Internal Systems

Designing, building, and maintaining the digital backbone that powers LiU Formula Student.

What we do

The Internal Systems team is responsible for developing and maintaining the software and digital infrastructure that supports the entire organization. This includes everything from internal tools for logistics, finance, and operations to data systems, integrations, and analytics platforms.

The team works closely with all other departments to understand their workflows and translate real operational needs into robust, scalable systems. By automating processes, improving data accessibility, and ensuring system reliability, Internal Systems enables the team to operate more efficiently and make better decisions.

Beyond day-to-day operations, the team also plays a key role in long-term digital strategy. This includes building platforms that can evolve across project years, ensuring knowledge continuity, and creating a strong technical foundation for future teams.

Internal Systems is both a service function and a development team, balancing rapid delivery of practical solutions with thoughtful system architecture and maintainability.

Our goal is simple: remove friction for everyone else in the team. If something is repetitive, unclear, or inefficient, we build systems to fix it. The best systems are the ones people don’t have to think about.
